Sweet Potato Pie Recipe

Preparation Steps

1️⃣ Prepare the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2️⃣ Prepare the Crust

  • Lightly grease your tart or pie pan.
  • Place the crust into the pan, press evenly across the bottom and sides, and prick a few holes in the base with a fork to prevent bubbling.

3️⃣ Make the Sweet Potato Filling

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mash the cooked sweet potatoes until smooth.
  2. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Stir until well combined.
  3. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and milk or cream. Mix until the filling is smooth.
  4. Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and a pinch of salt.

4️⃣ Assemble the Pie

  • Pour the sweet potato filling into the prepared pie crust and spread evenly.

5️⃣ Bake

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50–60 minutes, or until the filling is set around the edges and just slightly wobbly in the center.
  • The pie will firm up as it cools.
