Preparation Steps
1️⃣ Prepare the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2️⃣ Prepare the Crust
- Lightly grease your tart or pie pan.
- Place the crust into the pan, press evenly across the bottom and sides, and prick a few holes in the base with a fork to prevent bubbling.
3️⃣ Make the Sweet Potato Filling
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the cooked sweet potatoes until smooth.
- Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Stir until well combined.
- Add eggs, vanilla extract, and milk or cream. Mix until the filling is smooth.
- Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and a pinch of salt.
4️⃣ Assemble the Pie
- Pour the sweet potato filling into the prepared pie crust and spread evenly.
5️⃣ Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50–60 minutes, or until the filling is set around the edges and just slightly wobbly in the center.
- The pie will firm up as it cools.
6️⃣ Cool and Serve
