Maple Honey Butter Sweet Potato Cornbread

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a square or round baking dish (8×8-inch or similar).

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3: Blend the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, eggs, melted butter, buttermilk, honey, and maple syrup. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well incorporated.

Step 4: Combine and Bake

  1. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Don’t overmix—it’s okay if it’s a little lumpy.
  2. Transfer the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  3. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
