Fried Cabbage with Shrimp and Sausage

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients

  1. Begin by chopping the cabbage into bite-sized pieces. Slice the onion and bell pepper thinly, and mince the garlic cloves. This preparation step ensures a smooth cooking process with everything ready to go when it’s time to add each ingredient to the skillet.

Cook the Sausage and Shrimp

  1. In a large skillet or sauté pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and sizzling. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set it aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for 3–5 minutes, or until pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking, as shrimp can quickly become rubbery. Once done, remove the shrimp and set aside with the sausage.

Sauté the Vegetables

  1. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet. Sauté the sliced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic for about 3 minutes, or until the onions become soft and translucent. Stir frequently to avoid burning the garlic and ensure even cooking.
