1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8Ć8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal and cleanup.
2. Make the Crust
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and melted butter.
- Mix until a soft dough forms. Press evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven and set aside.
3. Prepare the Apple Filling
- In a bowl, toss the diced apples with granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly coated.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly over the pre-baked crust.
4. Make the Crumble Topping
- In a separate bowl, stir together the oats, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle evenly over the apple layer, pressing down gently to adhere.
5. Bake & Cool
- Bake for 30ā35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are soft and bubbling.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely in the pan.
- Lift out using the parchment paper and cut into 12 squares or bars.
