3. Assemble the Layers
- Begin with half of the meat sauce as the base layer, spreading it evenly over the bottom of the baking dish.
- Sprinkle a generous layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the sauce, ensuring even coverage for gooey, cheesy bites.
- Arrange pepperoni slices evenly on top of the cheese layer. Overlapping slightly is fine to ensure every slice of the bake gets pepperoni.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining meat sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, and pepperoni, building a deep, rich casserole.
- Finish the top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for a bubbly, golden crust.
4. Bake to Perfection
- Cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil to prevent the top from browning too quickly and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown around the edges.
- Optional: Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end to create a crispy, lightly browned cheese topping. Watch closely to avoid burning.
5. Rest and Serve
