3. Assemble the Layers

  1. Begin with half of the meat sauce as the base layer, spreading it evenly over the bottom of the baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle a generous layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the sauce, ensuring even coverage for gooey, cheesy bites.
  3. Arrange pepperoni slices evenly on top of the cheese layer. Overlapping slightly is fine to ensure every slice of the bake gets pepperoni.
  4. Repeat the layering process with the remaining meat sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, and pepperoni, building a deep, rich casserole.
  5. Finish the top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for a bubbly, golden crust.

4. Bake to Perfection

  1. Cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil to prevent the top from browning too quickly and bake for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown around the edges.
  3. Optional: Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end to create a crispy, lightly browned cheese topping. Watch closely to avoid burning.
