1. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling

  1. In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Option 1: Place about 1 teaspoon of filling onto each wonton and top with a small dollop of strawberry jam.
  3. Option 2: Mix diced strawberries or strawberry jam directly into the cheesecake mixture for a swirled filling.

2. Assemble the Wontons

  1. Lay out wonton wrappers on a clean surface.
  2. Place 1 teaspoon of cheesecake filling in the center of each wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges with a little water using your finger.
  4. Fold the wrapper into a triangle or envelope shape and press the edges to seal tightly, removing as much air as possible.
  5. Repeat until all wrappers are filled and sealed.

3. Fry the Wonton Bites

  1. In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry the wontons in batches, turning occasionally, for 1–2 minutes per side or until golden brown and crisp.
  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
