Creamy Cajun Shrimp & Sausage Pasta

Instructions

1. Cook the Cajun Shrimp:

  1. Pat shrimp dry and toss with Cajun seasoning until evenly coated.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook shrimp 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

2. Cook the Sausage:

  1. In the same skillet, add sliced sausage. Cook until browned, about 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. Prepare the Creamy Cajun Sauce:

  1. Add butter and olive oil to the skillet. Sauté chopped onion and red bell pepper for 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth (if using). Bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Let simmer for 5–7 minutes until sauce thickens slightly, then stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
