👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat Oven
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Do not line your baking sheet with parchment—spritz cookies need direct contact with the pan to stick when pressed.
2️⃣ Make the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with powdered sugar and salt until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually beat in the flour, mixing just until incorporated and a soft dough forms.
3️⃣ Color & Fill
- If using food coloring, divide the dough and tint as desired.
- Fill the cookie press with dough and press cookies directly onto an ungreased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
4️⃣ Bake
- Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until the edges are just set and barely golden. Do not overbake—spritz cookies should stay pale and tender.
- Cool on the pan for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
