Cherpumple – The Ultimate Pie-Stuffed Layer Cake

👩‍🍳 Directions

1️⃣ Prep & Pan

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line three 9-inch round cake pans with parchment and grease well. These layers are dense and heavy, so prep matters.
  3. Keep pies chilled until ready to use to help them hold shape inside the batter.

2️⃣ Prepare the Batters

  1. In three separate bowls, prepare each cake mix according to package directions.
  2. Optional: Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to each batter for added warmth.

3️⃣ Assemble & Bake Layers

Layer 1 (Pumpkin in Spice Cake):

  1. Pour half of the spice cake batter into a prepared pan.
  2. Gently place the pumpkin pie into the center, then cover with remaining batter.
  3. Bake for 60–70 minutes until set and a toothpick comes out clean.

Layer 2 (Cherry in White Cake):

  1. Repeat the process with the cherry pie and white cake mix. Bake for 55–65 minutes.

Layer 3 (Apple in Yellow Cake):

  1. Repeat with apple pie and yellow cake mix. Bake for 55–70 minutes.
