Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

1. Prepare the Crunch Layer

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the crushed graham crackers, melted butter, and sugar until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the crust is lightly golden. Let cool completely.

2. Make the Caramel Layer

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine unwrapped caramel candies and heavy cream.
  2. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth.
  3. Pour the caramel over the cooled crust and spread it evenly with a spatula. Let it set for 10–15 minutes.

3. Add the Chocolate Topping

  1. In a clean microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and vegetable oil (if using) in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
  2. Pour the chocolate over the caramel layer and spread evenly to cover.
  3. Use a toothpick or fork to create swirls or patterns for a decorative finish.

4. Chill and Serve
