Caramel Banana Pecan Cake

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the Oven:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.

2️⃣ Prepare the Dry Ingredients:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3️⃣ Cream the Butter and Sugar:

  1. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.

4️⃣ Mix in the Wet Ingredients:

  1. Stir in the mashed bananas and sour cream until well combined.

5️⃣ Add the Dry Ingredients:

  1. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
  2. Fold in the chopped pecans for added texture and flavor.

6️⃣ Bake the Cake:

  1. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
  2. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before turning them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

7️⃣ Assemble the Cake:

  1. Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of caramel sauce on top.
  2. Repeat with the second cake layer, then place the third layer on top.
  3. Drizzle the top with additional caramel sauce for a sweet finish.
