Instructions
1. Prepare the Apple Filling:
- In a medium bowl, toss the finely diced apples with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour.
- Add the sugar mixture to the apples and mix well until evenly coated.
2. Prepare the Pie Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Use a round cookie cutter or a glass to cut out 2–3 inch circles from the dough.
3. Assemble the Bites:
- Place a small spoonful of apple filling in the center of each dough circle.
- Drizzle a bit of caramel sauce over the filling.
- Fold edges inward to form a rustic tart shape or press closed with a fork for sealed bites.
- Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
