Butter Pecan Cookies Recipe

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and even baking.

2️⃣ Cream Butter and Sugars

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  2. Beat until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes using a hand or stand mixer.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until fully incorporated.

3️⃣ Combine Dry Ingredients

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture. Mix until just combined—do not overmix.

4️⃣ Fold in Pecans

  • Gently stir in the chopped pecans using a spatula or wooden spoon.

5️⃣ Shape and Bake

  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Gently press each cookie down slightly to flatten.
  3. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.
