In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the flour using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs (like sand with some pea-sized butter pieces).
Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently just until the dough comes together—do not overmix.
3️⃣ Shape and Cut
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead 2–3 times to bring it together.
Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter (or a floured glass) to cut out biscuits. Press straight down—don’t twist—to ensure a proper rise.
Gather scraps, re-pat, and cut again until all dough is used.
4️⃣ Bake
Place biscuits on a baking sheet, close together for softer sides or spaced apart for crispier edges.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
Optional: Brush with melted butter immediately after baking for extra flavor and shine.
