👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Pan

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.

2️⃣ Cream the Wet Ingredients

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and smooth (about 2–3 minutes).
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.

3️⃣ Mix the Dry Ingredients

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined—do not overmix.

4️⃣ Add the Butterscotch

  1. Fold in the butterscotch chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

5️⃣ Bake

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
  2. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6️⃣ Cool & Slice

  1. Let bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares or rectangles.
