Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowball Cookies

4. Coat

Roll each ball first in the reserved shredded coconut, pressing lightly to help the flakes adhere. This layer adds texture and helps anchor the powdered sugar. Next, roll the coconut-covered balls in the confectioners’ sugar until evenly coated. The result is a delicate, snow-dusted look that gives these cookies their signature holiday charm.

5. Set

Place each finished snowball on the prepared parchment-lined sheet, spacing them slightly apart. Allow the cookies to rest at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to firm up, or chill them in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes for a quicker set. The outer coating will become slightly crisp while the center stays chewy and soft.

Storage

Store the snowball cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. If stacking, place parchment or wax paper between layers to prevent sticking or smudging. For longer storage, refrigerate them in a sealed container—just bring to room temperature before serving for best texture.
