Prepare the Crockpot:
Layer half of the sliced onions and mushrooms at the bottom of your crockpot. This will create a flavorful base for the patties.
Season the Patties:
Sprinkle both sides of the hamburger patties with your favorite steak seasoning. I used Kinder’s The Steak Blend, but feel free to use any seasoning you prefer!
Layer the Ingredients:
Place the seasoned hamburger patties on top of the onions and mushrooms in the crockpot. Then, layer the remaining onions and mushrooms on top of the patties.
Add the Gravy:
Pour the jar of beef gravy over the patties and vegetables. If you want a little extra liquid, add the ¼ cup of beef broth (this is optional but adds extra flavor and moisture). The broth isn’t necessary but adds richness to the dish.
Cook:
Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 5 hours. No need to brown the patties beforehand; they will hold together just fine during cooking.
Serve:
Once the cooking time is up, serve the Salisbury steaks with mashed potatoes (I used Bob Evans microwavable mashed potatoes for convenience) and green beans. Spoon some of the delicious gravy from the crockpot over the meat and potatoes for extra flavor!
