Puff Pastry Pesto Trees

 Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and spread an even layer of pesto over it.

3. Cut the pastry into long thin strips (about 1.5 cm wide).

4. Carefully thread each strip onto a skewer, folding it back and forth to form a tree shape (start wider at the bottom, narrow at the top).

5. Place the skewers on the baking sheet and brush the pastry with beaten egg.

6. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

7. While still warm, insert a small cheese star on top of each skewer.

8. Serve warm or at room temperature on a festive platter.
