Pioneer Woman Apple Dumplings

1️⃣ Prep the Apples

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel and core the apples, then cut each apple into 8 wedges (you’ll have 16 total slices).

2️⃣ Roll the Dumplings

  • Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 16 triangles.
  • Roll each apple slice in one triangle of dough, starting at the wider end and rolling toward the point.
  • Place the wrapped apple slices in a buttered 9×13-inch baking dish.

3️⃣ Make the Sauce

  • In a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter.
  • Stir in the sugar just until combined—it should still be slightly grainy.
  • Add vanilla extract and stir briefly.

4️⃣ Assemble and Bake

  • Pour the butter-sugar mixture evenly over the dumplings.
  • Pour the Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan (not directly on top of the dumplings).
  • Sprinkle cinnamon generously over the top.
  • Bake uncovered for 40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
