👨🍳 Directions
1️⃣ Cook the Meat
- In a large deep skillet or sauté pan over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and diced onion.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is softened, about 6–8 minutes.
- Drain excess grease if needed.
2️⃣ Season & Combine
- Return the skillet to heat and sprinkle in the garlic powder and taco seasoning. Stir to coat the beef.
- Add the uncooked rice, beef broth, corn, tomato sauce, and salsa.
- Mix everything well to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
3️⃣ Simmer to Perfection
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then immediately reduce the heat to low.
- Cover the skillet and let simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
4️⃣ Add the Finishing Touch
- Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Replace the lid and let sit for 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts.
5️⃣ Serve
