Old School Pizza Burgers

Instructions

  1. Season and shape the patties: In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.
  2. Cook the burgers: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  3. Add the pizza toppings: Once cooked, top each patty with a spoonful of pizza sauce, a generous handful of mozzarella cheese, and a few slices of pepperoni. Cover the skillet with a lid and let cook for 1–2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Toast the buns: While the cheese melts, lightly toast the burger buns in a separate pan or under the broiler.
  5. Assemble and serve: Place the pizza-topped patties on the bottom buns, add the tops, and serve hot. Optional: serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.

Tips:

  • Add sliced olives, sautéed mushrooms, or green peppers for a supreme-style twist.
  • Swap mozzarella for provolone or a pizza cheese blend for a different flavor.
  • Use garlic butter on the buns before toasting for extra flavor.
