4️⃣ Assembly
- Transfer the risen dough to a greased baking pan (approx. 25×35 cm). Greasing prevents sticking and helps the baked cake release cleanly.
- Gently stretch and even out the dough. Use your hands or a spatula to spread it evenly to the corners without pressing out too much of the air developed during rising.
- Distribute the fruit on top. Scatter the berries across the surface so they bake into the dough, adding bursts of flavor throughout the cake.
- Cover everything with the crumble topping. Sprinkle it generously but evenly so the surface bakes into a crunchy, textured top layer.
5️⃣ Second rise
Let it rest for another 20–25 minutes. This final rise allows the dough to relax and gain extra volume, ensuring a soft interior once baked.
6️⃣ Baking
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown on top. The crumble should appear crisp and lightly caramelized, while the edges of the cake pull slightly from the pan. Avoid overbaking to maintain a moist, tender crumb inside.
After cooling, if desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar. This adds a delicate finish and enhances the homemade appearance.
Enjoy a fluffy, fragrant cake with a perfect crunch—an inviting, timeless treat that always feels like home.
