Fresh Peach Fritters with Sweet Glaze

  1. Glaze: While the fritters are still warm, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl. The powdered sugar should dissolve easily into the milk, creating a smooth glaze. If the glaze appears too thick, add the remaining milk, one teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. The glaze should be thin enough to dip but thick enough to coat the fritters without dripping off immediately. Once the glaze is ready, dip the top of each fritter into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. Then, return the fritters to the wire rack to set for a few minutes before serving. The glaze will firm up slightly as it cools, creating a sweet, glossy coating on each fritter.

Once the fritters are glazed and the coating has set, they are ready to serve. These fresh peach fritters are best enjoyed warm but can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days. If you need to reheat them, simply place them in a warm oven for a few minutes. The fritters also make a wonderful make-ahead breakfast or dessert, and the glaze can be drizzled over them just before serving for a fresh, sweet finish. The tender, fruity interior combined with the crisp exterior and sweet glaze makes these fritters a crowd-pleasing treat!
