Prepare the Cones:
Place the sugar cones upside-down on a parchment-lined tray. These cones will act as the base for your « trees, » so make sure they’re stable on the tray before you start decorating.
Coat the Cones in Chocolate:
Spoon or dip each cone into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off. Be sure to coat each cone thoroughly so that it’s covered in a smooth layer of chocolate. After dipping, set the cone on top of a round chocolate cookie or graham cracker round to form the base of your tree. Let them chill for 10 minutes to firm up the chocolate and hold the shape.
Decorate the Trees:
Melt the white chocolate and place it in a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped off. Drizzle fun patterns like swirls, zigzags, and dots on the chocolate-covered cones. Be creative — there are no rules when it comes to decorating! While the white chocolate is still soft, sprinkle on some holiday sprinkles or candy pearls to add a festive touch.
Add the Star:
Use a small dab of melted chocolate to « glue » a star-shaped cookie or edible star to the top of each cone. This will complete the look of your mini Christmas tree. If you don’t have star cookies, any small edible topper will do.
Chill to Set:
Place the decorated trees back into the fridge and chill for another 15 minutes, or until the chocolate has fully set and hardened. This will help your trees hold their shape and make them easier to handle.
Serve and Enjoy:
Once chilled, your adorable chocolate Christmas trees are ready to display and enjoy! They’re perfect for holiday parties, as gifts, or as a fun activity to make with the kids.
