Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 6–8 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • ⅓ cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tsp chicken bouillon
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest of ½ lemon (reserve the other half for slicing)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp crushed red chili flakes or cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ⅔ tsp black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced or sliced
  • ½ stick butter (¼ cup), diced
  • Optional: 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced

For the Cream Sauce:

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half and half)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
