Crispy Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry Stacks

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the Oven & Prep the Puff Pastry

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly roll out both puff pastry sheets to smooth out any creases.

2️⃣ Assemble the Stacks

  1. If using, spread Dijon mustard on one of the puff pastry sheets for added flavor.
  2. Layer the sheet with shredded mozzarella, cheddar cheese, and slices of deli ham. Season with garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper to taste.
  3. Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top and gently press down to seal the layers together.
  4. Cut the layered pastry into 3″x3″ squares.
  5. Stack two squares together, adding extra cheese between layers if desired.

3️⃣ Egg Wash & Bake

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make the egg wash.
  2. Brush the tops of each stacked pastry square with the egg wash, then sprinkle with extra cheese and cracked black pepper.
  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden and puffed up.

4️⃣ Cool & Serve

  1. Let the puff pastry stacks cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  2. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
  3. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce (e.g., marinara, ranch, or honey mustard).
