For the Pasta:
- ½ pound penne pasta, cooked and drained according to package directions
- 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
- 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch bite-sized pieces (approximately 1 ½ pounds)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 8.5 ounces sun-dried tomatoes, julienne cut and packed in oil (approximately 1 cup)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning blend
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoons fresh chopped basil leaves, divided (2 tablespoons mixed into sauce, 1 tablespoon for garnish)
