Creamy Cucumber Salad with Dill and Red Onion

Instructions

1. Prep the Vegetables:

  1. Thinly slice the cucumbers and red onion using a sharp knife or mandoline for uniform pieces.
  2. If cucumbers are extra juicy, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and let sit in a colander for 15 minutes. Then pat dry with paper towels to avoid a watery salad.

2. Make the Dressing:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise (if using), vinegar or lemon juice, dill, salt, pepper, and sugar (if using).
  2. Whisk together until smooth and well blended.

3. Combine and Chill:

  1. Add the sliced cucumbers and red onion to the dressing. Gently toss until all the vegetables are evenly coated.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
