- Cook the Pasta:
Boil the macaroni in salted water according to package directions until al dente. Drain, rinse under cool water to stop cooking, and set aside to cool completely.
- Make the Dressing:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, and pickle juice until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the Salad:
Add the cooled macaroni, chopped dill pickles, red onion, and fresh dill to the dressing. Toss everything together until evenly coated.
- Season:
Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed. The pickle juice may already provide enough tang and saltiness.
- Chill:
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld and salad to fully chill.
