Assembly
- Once the cake has cooled, slice it horizontally into two even layers using a serrated knife.
- Spread a generous layer of the prepared cream over the bottom cake layer, then place the second cake layer on top.
- Spread more cream on top of the cake and along the sides (optional, depending on your preference).
- Sprinkle grated chocolate or sifted cocoa powder over the top for decoration.
- Refrigerate the assembled cake for 1–2 hours before serving to allow the cream to firm up and the flavors to meld.
Serving & Storage Tips
- Serving: Slice and serve chilled or at room temperature. It pairs beautifully with a cup of coffee or tea.
- Storage: Keep the cake refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Optional Additions:
- Add a layer of fresh raspberries or cherry compote between the cake and cream for a fruity touch.
- Use a mix of dark and milk chocolate for a milder chocolate base.
