Preheat: Preheat your oven or air fryer to 375°F (190°C). If using an oven, line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier. If using an air fryer, lightly grease the basket if needed.
Prepare the Jalapeños: Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise. Using a small spoon or knife, carefully remove the seeds and membranes. Removing the membranes reduces the heat level while keeping the jalapeño flavor intact. For spicier poppers, leave a small portion of the membrane inside.
Fill with Brie: Place a chunk of brie inside each jalapeño half. The cheese should fit comfortably without overflowing, as it will soften and melt during cooking. Brie’s mild, buttery flavor pairs perfectly with both the jalapeño and the sweet topping.
Wrap the Poppers: Wrap each filled jalapeño with one slice of deli ham, prosciutto, or bacon. Overlap the ends slightly underneath the pepper so the wrap stays secure as it cooks. Arrange the poppers cut-side up to help keep the cheese inside.
Baking, Finishing, and Serving
Cook: Place the wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet or in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Bake or air fry for 15–20 minutes, until the wrap is lightly browned and crisp and the brie is fully melted and bubbling slightly. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the meat used.
Warm the Blueberry Preserves: While the poppers are cooking, warm the blueberry preserves in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave until smooth and pourable. Stir gently to maintain an even consistency.
Finish with Topping: Remove the poppers from the oven or air fryer and immediately drizzle or spoon the warm blueberry preserves over the top. This allows the preserves to melt slightly into the hot cheese, enhancing the sweet–savory contrast.
Season and Serve: Finish with a light sprinkle of black pepper or flaky salt if desired. Serve immediately while hot, gooey, and glossy for the best flavor and texture.
