Make the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Stir gently and let sit for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture becomes foamy. This step activates the yeast and ensures a good rise.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, salt, and mashed banana to the yeast mixture. Whisk or stir until fully blended. The banana adds moisture and sweetness to the dough, enhancing its flavor and texture.
- Gradually stir in the flour, 1 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Add flour as needed to prevent sticking, but avoid over-flouring.
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size. The dough should be soft, airy, and easy to work with once risen.
