Prepare the Apples:
Wash and core the apples. Slice them thinly, about 1/8 inch thick, using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife for even slices.
Prevent Browning:
Toss the apple slices with lemon juice in a large bowl to prevent browning and to add a bit of tangy flavor.
Make Cinnamon Sugar:
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together to create your cinnamon sugar coating.
Coat the Apples:
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the apple slices and toss them gently to ensure the coating is evenly distributed.
Preheat the Air Fryer:
Set the air fryer to 300°F (150°C) and preheat it for about 3 minutes. Preheating helps the apples cook evenly and crisply.
Arrange & Cook:
Place the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. If needed, work in batches to avoid overcrowding. Air fry the apples for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chips are crisp and golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning, as air fryers can vary in heat intensity.
Cool & Enjoy:
Remove the apple chips from the air fryer and let them cool completely. They will crisp up even more as they cool. Enjoy them as a healthy snack, or store them in an airtight container for later!
