Shrimp Alfredo Pasta

Ingredients

For the Pasta:

  • 340 grams (12 oz) fettuccine or penne pasta

For the Shrimp:

  • 450 grams (1 lb) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon neutral cooking oil (such as canola or vegetable oil)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
